Suzanne Hunt is Policy Director for Generate Capital, a firm that builds, owns, operates, and finances sustainable infrastructure – meaning decentralized, democratized, digitized, and decarbonized projects. Generate works across a wide range of sectors in power, mobility, waste, and water across North America and in Europe. Suzanne is also a Co-Owner of her family’s seventh generation farm and 41-year-old sustainable winery (HuntWines.com). She serves on the external Sustainability Council that advises the CEO and senior leadership of Bayer Corporation in Germany. She is an Associate at the International Institute for Sustainability Analysis and Strategy (IINAS) in Germany, a Northeast Chapter Director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), and a member of the Agriculture and Forestry Advisory Panel to the NY Climate Action Council. She is also a Board Trustee of the Seneca Park Zoo Society, a Member of the Board of the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance, an Advisory Council member for the Center for Earth Ethics at the Union Divinity School, Sustainability Advisory Committee member to the NY Wine & Grape Foundation, and she serves as Chair of the External Advisory Board to Cornell AgriTech. Suzanne has served as an advisor to entities such as the Club of Madrid, Air New Zealand, and the Carbon War Room. Suzanne was a founding advisor to the annual Art Center Sustainable Mobility Summit. From 2005–2007, Suzanne directed the Worldwatch Institute’s bioenergy program where she orchestrated the landmark research initiative and resulting book, “Biofuels for Transportation: Global Potential and Implications for Energy and Agriculture.” From 2007-2021 she ran Hunt Green LLC whose clients have included a wide variety of private equity firms, U.N. bodies, government agencies, clean tech startups, Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits. Suzanne has been featured as a “Pioneer” in Science Magazine, and as an expert in her fields in national and international print media and television.
